Maybe I Am All Wrong

She is a second cousin
from Kokomo
a nice square lady
a prize jelly maker

She phoned me worried:
"Is there such a place
as the Crystal Palace in
Bakersfield

"From what I've heard
it doesn't fit the picture
of pumping oil wells
and blowing tumbleweeds

"But my grandson Clay swears
it's a landmark bar and theatre
Buck Owens built around his
1971 Pontiac Granville

"That doesn't mean boo to me
but maybe I am all wrong
Is there such a place?

"We are coming to California
on a trip in April
and Clay is my driver"

She laughed a little
"and in my car
using my credit card"
