Could I Stop There

Today I changed from
plain graham crackers
to the new chocolate flavor

It made all the difference
and started me wondering if
1 could wear eye shadow

Would it be like a blast
of chocolate
And could I stop there

Would I be a fool
with black smudges
under my astigmatic eyes

even go further astray
sampling Tahiti-red lipstick
at the cosmetic counter

and longing for
all the colors of Gauguin
